What is the Algonkian Walk-A-Thon?
The Algonkian Walk-A-Thon serves as the Algonkian PTA’s primary fundraising event of the year. Algonkian students walk a track for pledges promised by the participant’s friends and family. One lap is approximately ¼ of a mile.
When is the Algonkian Walk-A-Thon?
The 2026 Walk-A-Thon will occur during the school day on
Thursday, September 24th. The rain date is Friday, September 25th.
What is our Algonkian Walk-A-Thon goal?
The purpose of the Walk-A-Thon is to raise money to promote education and enrichment programs for the students of Algonkian Elementary School paid for by the PTA. Our goal is to raise AT LEAST $25,000!
Not only do you support education and enrichment, it promotes physical fitness!
Why did my child come home with a large packet?
The packet contains all of the information you need. Inside the packet you will find: 1) Information Sheet and 2) Donation Sheet.
Who can participate?
All Algonkian students participate in the Walk-A-Thon! Ask family, neighbors, and friends to sponsor. Don't forget to tell family and friends that don't live locally that they can donate online! No amount is too small!
IMPORTANT DATES:
SEPTEMBER 4, 2026
Return your packet with $50 or more in donations by September 4th and you will receive your Walk-A-Thon T-shirt in your requested size before Walk-A-Thon! Your shirt size must also be requested by September 4th.
SEPTEMBER 11, 2026
Return your packet with $50 or more in donations by September 11th and you will receive your Walk-A-Thon T-shirt before Walk-A-Thon! Size is subject to availability, but we will do our best to honor your requested shirt size.
SEPTEMBER 23, 2026
All completed packets and donations must be turned in by September 23rd! All donations received by 3pm on September 23rd will be included in the counts for top student and highest class donations. Return your packet with $50 or more and a Walk-A-Thon T-shirt will be provided after the event if any remain. Additional shirts will not be ordered once all shirts are distributed.
